Our frozen vegetables, growers guarantee
We grow and process frozen vegetables for retail, catering, and food industries.
Until one century ago, Fucino was a lake. It was very large - the third Italian biggest lake; it was drained in 1875 by prince Torlonia. Nowadays, Fucino young lands (13,000 hectares) are among the most fertile in Italy. Crop growing is also helped by their mountain climate and their humus, a substance these lands are very rich of, since they were the lake floor.
Since there are no towns inside Fucino, there is no pollution. Several National Parks sourrond the area.
Quality & Safety
Our production site is certified and regularly monitored by independent and qualified certifying bodies. All of our products are subject to scrupulous quality checks both in the fields and on our production lines.
Our commitment to quality takes a variety of forms:
- We select the best growers
- Our plant production department follows up products from seeding to harvest, to assess their quality and safety throughout the supply chain.
- We check every step of the supply chain.
- Quality is retained in each production phase and the cold chain is rigorosly maintained.
- Our focus is on meeting Customer's taste and service requirements.
Sustainability
As a Farmers' Association, Agrifood-Covalpa is particularly devoted to environment conservation. Our commitment is twofold.
- In agricultural production, we promote the development of water-saving and sustainable agricultural practices through crop planning and other services entrusted to a dedicated Plant Production department.
- In industrial production, we have developed accurate energy-saving and emission-reduction programmes.
